Abstract:Objective To study the Pathogens in urinary tract infection. Methods Pathogen was collected from urine specimen from the patients in hospital between January 2005 and December 2007. Totally 632 strains of pathogen were identified and the drug resistance were analyzed. Results Escherichia coli was the main cause of urinary tract infection (59.5%) , followed by Enterococeus, Klebsiella, Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Fungus. Only 2.8% of Escberichia coil was resistant to Imipenem. The drug resistance of Enterococcus was about 40% -70% and Vancomycin was 21%. Conclusion The main pathogen of urinary tract infection is Enterobacteriaeeae. The reasonable choose of antibiotics should be based on drug sensitivity test.
