The diagnosis and postoperative intravesical irrigation the Bacillus Calmette-Guerin or Mitomgcin treatment of primary ureteral carcinoma

Abstract:Objective To improve the diagnosis and treatment of primary ureteral transitional cell carcinoma.Methods Clinical data of 26 cases of primary ureteral carcinoma were retrospectively investigated.and the problems related to the diagnosis and treatment were discussed.Results Twenty-one cases have been followed up for 4 to 72 months.21 cases postoperative intravesical irrigation the bacillus Calmette-Guerin or Mitomycin or Pirarubicin would help in the prevention of the postoperative recurrence of bladder cancer within two years.After treatment the survived for 4 to 72 months.9 cases died in 5 years,3 developed bladder carcinoma and remote metastasis within five years and another 9 cases ale still alive up to now.Conclusion The main diagnostic were IVU and retrograde ureteropyelography,CT,MRI,cystoscopy and ureteroscopy.The early diagnosis and treatment still was the key to raise the survival rate of patients.Postoperative intravesical irrigation the Bacillus CalmetteGuerin or Mitomycin or Pirarubicin would help in the prevention of the postoperative recurrence of bladder cancer.
