Clinical observation of risperidone and perphenazine for treatment of first episode of children schizophrenia

Abstract：Objective To evaluate the difference of treatment efficacy and side effects between Risperidone and perphenazine for children schizophrenia. Methods Treatment efficacy and side effects of 62 patients who met CCMD-3 criteria were evaluated by BPRS and CGi respectively, including 32 patients treated with Risperidone and 30 patients treated with perphenazine. Results Risperidone had a higher ameliorated rate in symptoms(75%) than perphenazine (47%) ,there was no significant difference the improvement of schizophrenia symptoms in the study. The scores of BPRS before and after treatment in 2 groups were significantly different (P<0.01). Conclusion The efficacy, safety of Risperidone is higher than that of perphenazine for children schizophrenia.
