Medical termination of very early pregnancy

Abstract:Objective To observe the effect and security of mifepristone and misoprostol for terminating very early pregnancy.Methods Between 2003 and 2007,40 women proved pregnant by urine or blood HCG without fertilized egg detected by ultrasound B were give.mifepristone and misoprostol(study group).Meanwhile blood HCG level was monitored.60 pregnancy women in the same period who received usual medical abortion were observed as a control group.The effective rate,bleeding time,menses comeback time,side effects between 2 groups were observed.Results Success rate of the study group was 97.5%(39/40),with 85%(51/60)in the control group(P<0.05).Bleeding time of the study group was shorter than the control group.There was no significant difference of the time of menses comeback between the two groups.the incidence of nausea,vomit,diarrhea of the study group was lower than the control group.abdominal hemorrhage was not observed in both groups.Conclusion For very early pregnancy women without fertilized egg detected by ultrasound B,it is safe and effective to have medical abortion under strictive monitoring.
