Operation for acute mesenteric arterial occlusion

Abstract:Objective To discuss our experience of operation therapy for acute mesenteric arterial occlusion.Methods Twelve cases with acute mesenteric arterial occlusion between January of 2000 and December 0f 2007 was retrospectively analyzed.Results Among all the cases,9 were cured and 3 cases died with a mortality of 25%.Causes of death died were septic shock,multiple organ failure,short bowel syndrome,and myocardial infarction.Conclusion Timely and reasonable operation play a key role in treatment of acute mesenteric arterial occlusion.
