Key issues and solutions of flood control current situation in the Songhua River basin

Abstract：Songhua River is one of the seven major rivers in China.In order to adapt to the new situation and changes in flood control,an analysis is made on the current situation and problems faced by flood control engineering system in the Songhua River basin.With consideration to actual situation of flood control and needs of economic and social development,as well as changes of water,engineering and social conditions,it proposes to classify the floodplain areas and embankments scientifically for management,and specify the conditions for activation of flood storage and detention areas.More efforts are called on to address key and difficult issues in flood control,so as to provide reference for building a modern flood control engineering system that is suitable for high-quality economic and social development,and systematically enhancing the capabilities of flood control and disaster reduction in the Songhua River basin.
