Research on key and difficult issues of flood control in Peral River basin and the corresponding countermeasures

Abstract：The Pearl River basin has changeable climate and frequent storm,and flood disaster is the most frequent and harmful natural disaster in the basin,especially in its middle and lower reaches and delta areas.On the basis of summarizing and reviewing the achievements of the construction of the basin flood control and disaster reduction system since the implementation of previous round of basin flood control plan,this article compares the high-quality development needs of the basin economy and society in the new stage with the flood control and security needs of the people,and deeply analyzes the situation of basin flood control.Response strategies including design flood review and adoption under the background of flood diversion,optimization of setting and operation management of flood storage and detention areas,construction of Sixianjiao control and guidance engineering,and improvement of flood control capacity of Longtan Reservoir are proposed to provide support for comprehensively improving the flood mitigation and disaster reduction capacity of the basin.
