Abstract:The downstream water level monitoring is a mandatory safety monitoring item for level 1 to level 5 dams. However,it is often overlooked or misunderstood in the actual construction process, hindering the full functionality of the monitoring system.By establishing downstream water level monitoring, the accurate and complete position of the dam's infiltration line can be determined, supporting the development of intelligent water conservancy projects. It allows for the quantitative analysis of the anti-seepage effectiveness and seepage safety status of monitored sections, enhancing the depth of analysis for seepage safety monitoring data.Additionally,it provides reliable essential boundary condition parameters for dam seepage calculations, thereby improving the reliability and accuracy of seepage calculation results.Downstream water level monitoring is crucial for dam safety monitoring and even dam safety management. It is recommended that reservoirs with suitable conditions supplement downstream water level monitoring to further enhance the dam safety monitoring system.
