Abstract:The Yangtze River General Water Allocation and Simulation System(CJGWAS),jointly developed by China Three Gorges Corporation and China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, achieves an integrated scientific simulation and development analysis of water resources in the Yangtze River Basin. It covers reservoir projects as"points",river courses and water diversion projects as"lines",administrative units as"surfaces",and basin complexes as the overall"volume"in a unified"point-line-surface-volume"framework.The system incorporates algorithms such as hydrological models, allocation models, reservoir scheduling models, and water demand forecasting. It allows a retrospective analysis of the historical and current conditions in the Yangtze River Basin and future scenario projections. The research outcomes can provide support for water network planning, evaluation of major water diversion projects, prediction of ecological flow at cross-sections,and assessment of the impact on hydropower generation in the Yangtze River Basin.
