Abstract：Rivers,lakes and reservoirs are crucial components of natural ecosystems.With the impacts of economic and social development,as well as global climate change,cumulative ecological issues in river,lake,and reservoir environments have gradually become more pronounced.This study provides a systematic analysis of the new requirements for advancing the protection and governance of the ecological environment of rivers,lakes and reservoirs in the new stage.Considering the key problems existing in the rivers,lakes and reservoirs,the study proposes nine major action measures encompassing key technological innovation,strategic research,major planning development,significant project demonstration,and the formulation of standards,to offer valuable insights for the protection and governance of the ecological environment of rivers,lakes and reservoirs.
