Technical advancement and demand of Middle Route Scheme of South-to-North Water Diversion Project

Abstract:The main canal of the Middle Route of South-to-North Water Diversion Project has a length of more than 1 400 km and a number of crossing structures. Due to the complicated geological conditions and no regulated reservoirs along the water diversion route, it encounters difficulties for construction and operation. In order to ensure project safety, Construction and Administration Bureau of South-to-North Water Diversion Middle Route Project conducted a series scientific studies and researches, which demonstrates by major achievements in research and development. Considering the current operation conditions and technical problems, the recent needs of scientific studies are analyzed for the Middle Route Scheme.
