Research progress on the prevention and treatment of male infertility by traditional chinese medicine through regulating sperm mitochondrial dysfunction

Abstract：In recent years,the incidence of male infertility has been on the rise,seriously threatening the reproductive health of people around the world.The causes of male infertility are complex.Recent relevant studies have shown that sperm mi-tochondria are closely related to male infertility.Previous studies have demonstrated that some Chinese herbal monomers and Chi-nese herbal compounds are helpful for the prevention and treatment of male infertility by protecting sperm mitochondria and thus improving sperm quality.This article will discuss the regulatory effects of TCM monomers and TCM combinations on sperm mito-chondrial function from the perspective of sperm mitochondrial dysfunction,and summarize the recent studies,with a view of rel-evant medications and their application in clinical practice.
