Abstract:Prostate cancer is globally the most prevalent malignant tumor in the male genitourinary system, with increasing incidence rates in China.Traditional treatment methods often lead to overtreatment in some patients, prompting the emergence of focal therapy as a new approach.Among these, cryoablation is a promising method, utilizing rapid freezing and slow thawing to destroy cancerous tissues. Moreover, with the guarantee of safety by image-guided techniques,it can reduce functional damage and has a good effect on patients with varying risks. However,it still faces challenges such as the difficulty in treatment scope definition, the imperfect long-term efficacy evaluation system, and insufficient comparative research with other treatment meth-ods.The research progress on cryoablation will be reviewed in this article.
