Exploring the Diagnosis and Treatment of Premature Ejaculation Based on the Theory of Phase Fire
Abstract:Premature ejaculation is a common urological disease. Throughout history, traditional Chinese medicine has mainly understood this condition from the perspectives of the heart, liver, and kidney, believing that premature ejaculation is mostly caused by the lack of nourishment of the heart spirit, the failure of the liver to regulate, and the loss of the kidney's storage function. With changes in the environment and dietary structures, the number of patients with premature ejaculation caused by internal heat has been increasing. Through literature review and clinical observation, it is believed that the excessive movement of phase fire should be the core pathogenesis of premature ejaculation. Its causes are closely related to congenital weakness, excessive sexual activity, emotional disorders, and improper diet. Clinically, excessive phase fire can manifest in forms such as internal yin deficiency heat, qi stagnation transforming into fire, heart-kidney disharmony, and damp-heat accumulation. The treatment should follow the principles of nourishing yin and reducing fire, soothing the liver and resolving depression, harmonizing the heart and kidney, and clearing heat and promoting diuresis to stabilize the phase fire.
