A Case Report of Penile Torsion
Abstract:Penile torsion is a congenital deformity characterized by rotation of the penis along its longitudinal axis, usually to the left or right, leading to an abnormal position of the urethral opening. The incidence rate is 0.4% to 10% [1-3]. Most patients have mild penile torsion (<60°) and do not require treatment; however, moderate to severe penile torsion (≥60°) often affects the child's urinary function. It can also cause psychological issues such as inferiority and anxiety in the child due to the abnormal appearance of the penis, affecting normal social interactions and quality of life, thus requiring active treatment. This article introduces the clinical condition of a child with penile torsion, aiming to provide reference for the diagnosis and treatment of this condition.
