Health Management Consensus on Delayed Puberty in Males
Abstract:Delayed puberty in males typically refers to a clinical condition where there is no testicular or secondary sexual development (such as testicular enlargement, pubic hair growth, and voice deepening) after the age of 14, or where the progression of sexual characteristics is significantly slow. The onset of puberty in males is characterized by testicular enlargement (testicular volume > 4 mL or testicular length > 25 mm) and an acceleration in linear growth (height spurt) [1-2]. According to statistics, the prevalence of delayed puberty in the adolescent population may exceed 2%, with males being much more affected than females [3].
