Study on the Positive Predictive Value of PI-RADS in Different Prostate Zones for Prostate Cancer
Abstract:Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) is widely used in the diagnosis, staging, and active surveillance of prostate cancer (PCa) [1-3]. The Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) serves as a standardized protocol, applicable to the management, communication, and quality assurance of multi-center examinations for PCa [4-5]. Although PI-RADS has been widely applied in clinical practice, certain limitations have been identified in practice [6-7], such as the influence of individual physician experience and subjective judgment on PI-RADS scoring, as well as false negatives and false positives for certain special types of PCa. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the performance of the positive predictive value (PPV) of PI-RADS in diagnosing PCa in different prostate zones through a retrospective analysis.
