Abstract:Objectives: To determine the longterm influence of vasectomy on prostate, investigation was carried out on the relationship between benign prostatichyperplasia (BPH) and vasectomy. Methods: The study included IPSS, lifequality(L),max flow rate (MFR), volume of prostate(V)and residual urine(R)in 570male peasants over 60 years old (140 were vasectomized). BPH diagnosis was made in accordance with the index V>20ml and MFR<15ml/s, or V>20ml associatedwith micturition symptoms(IPSS≥8). The incidence of BPH in the vasectomized groupsand non-vasectomized ones were compared. Results: The incidence of BPH in thevasectomized individuals(27.1%)was significantly lower than the non-vasectomizedones(47.9%)at the same age(P<0.01). Conclusions: The incidence of BPH was decreased
