Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between the ratio of triglycerides to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(TG/HDL-C)and the overall burden of cerebral small vessel diseases(CSVD)on cranial magnetic resonance imaging. Methods Clinical data 98 CSVD patients admitted to our hospital from January 2019 to January 2020 were collected and retrospectively analyzed.Based on the total CSVD burden score, they were divided into a mild-to-moderate group(score:0-2,n=60)and a severe group(score:3-4,n=38).The correlation between the TG/HDL-C ratio and CSVD burden score was evaluated using binary logistic regression analysis. Results The severe group exhibited significantly advanced age, larger ratios of alcohol consumption and hypertension, higher TG/HDL-C ratio and TC level, and markedly lower HDL-C level when compared with the mild-to-moderate group(P<0.05,P<0.01).Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that age, hypertension, and TG/HDL-C ratio were independent risk factors for increased CSVD burden(P<0.05,P<0.01),while HDL-C was a protective factor(OR=0.013,95%CI:0.001-0.154,P<0.01).Conclusion Older age, higher TG/HDL-C ratio, and presence of hypertension indicate a heavier burden of CSVD.While, higher HDL-C level is beneficial for cerebral blood vessels.
