Recent Advances in the Intervention of Frailty in Elderly Patients with Cardiovascular Disease
Abstract:China is the country with the largest elderly population, and the degree of aging is still deepening. Data from the seventh national population census (2020) show that the elderly population (≥60 years old) accounts for about 18.7% (approximately 264 million) of the total population. The latest World Population Prospects report 2024 shows that the current number of elderly people in China has reached 280 million, and this number is expected to reach 500 million by 2050. The prevalence of cardiovascular diseases (cardiovascular diseases, CVD) increases with age. With the acceleration of population aging and urbanization, the incidence of CVD in China continues to rise, imposing an increasingly heavy burden on residents and the government.
