A case of ruptured giant coronary artery aneurysm combined with coronary arterio-pulmonary fistula in the elderly
Abstract:Coronary arterio-pulmonary fistula refers to an abnormal communication between the coronary artery and the pulmonary artery, causing direct shunting of coronary blood flow into the pulmonary artery. The severity of symptoms is related to the size of the shunt. A coronary artery aneurysm (CAA) refers to localized dilation of the coronary artery, with a diameter at least 1.5 times that of the adjacent reference segment; an aneurysm with a diameter exceeding 20 mm is defined as a giant aneurysm. Both diseases have low incidence rates, and the combination of coronary arterio-pulmonary fistula with a giant CAA is a rare case. Herein, we report a successfully rescued case of ruptured giant coronary artery aneurysm combined with coronary arterio-pulmonary fistula to enhance our understanding of the disease.
