Abstract:Objective To study the relationship between serum S100 calcium-binding protein β(S100β)and α-syn levels and depressive and movement disorder in patients with PD.Methods A total of 194 PD patients admitted to our hospital from January to December 2022 were enrolled and divided into non-depressed group(score:0-13,102 patients)and depressed group(score≥14,92 patients)according to Hamilton Depression Scale.Their movement disorder was evaluated with Hoehn-Yahr(H-Y)rating and Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale Ⅲ(UPDRS-Ⅲ).The independent risk factors of depressed in PD patients were analyzed by logistic regression, and the correlation between the serum levels of S100 β and α-syn was analyzed by Spearman correla-tion analysis. Results The patients of the depression group had significantly lower BMI,and high-er H-Y grade,UPDRS-Ⅲ score and S100β and α-syn levels than those of the non-depressed group(P<0.05,P<0.01).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that H-Y grade,UPDRS-Ⅲscore,and S100β and α-syn levels were independent risk factors for depression in PD patients(P<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis revealed that S100β level in PD patients was positively corre-lated with H-Y grade and UPDRS-Ⅲ score(r=0.698,P=0.005;r=0.637,P=0.011);α-syn lev-el was also positively correlated with H-Y grade and UPDRS-Ⅲ score(r=0.654,P=0.021;r=0.611,P=0.035).ROC curve analysis indicated that the cutoff values of S100β and α-syn were 486.65 µg/L and 3894.27 ng/L in diagnosing depression in PD patients, and the AUC value was 0.889(95%CI:0.812-0.923)and 0.761(95%CI:0.714-0.828),respec-tively.The area under S100 β curve was significantly better than that under α-syn(P<0.05).Conclusion Serum S100βand α-syn levels are closely associated with depressive and motor disorders in PD patients.
