Effect of rosuvastatin on expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in H type hypertension rats
Abstract:Objective To study the effect of rosuvastatin on expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in H type hypertension rats. Methods Twenty-four male SD rats were randomly divided into control group,H type hypertension group and H type hypertension+ rosuvastatin group (8 in each group).H type hypertension model was established by feeding rats with rat chow plus 2 % methionine.Serum VEGF level was measured by enzyme-link immunosorbent assay and expression of VEGF was detected with immunohistochemial staining. Results No significant difference was found in serum levels of TC,TG,HDL,LDL,Hcy between the control group,H type hypertension group and H type hypertension+rosuvastatin group (P<0.05).The serum VEGF level was significantly higher in H type hypertension+ rosuvastatin group than in control group and H type hypertension group (217.50±30.40 ng/L vs 180.93± 15.75 ng/L,187.19± 10.93 ng/L,P<0.05).The expression level of VEGF was significantly higher in H type hypertension+rosuvastatin group than in control group and H type hypertension group. Conclusion Rosuvastatin affects the vascular endothelial function in H type hypertension rats by regulating the expression of VEGF.
