Serum miRNA-222 and IL-6 levels and their clinical significance in degenerative heart valvular disease patients
Abstract:Objective To study the serum miRNA-222 and IL-6 levels and their clinical significance in degenerative heart valvular disease (DHVD) patients. Methods One hundred DHVD patients admitted to our hospital from January 2016 to November 2016 were divided into single DHVD group (n=48) and multiple DHVD group (n=52) with 30 DHVD free subjects undergoing physical examination served as a control group in this study.Their serum miRNA-222 and IL-6 levels were measured and the association between their serum miRNA-222 and IL-6 levels was analyzed. Results The serum miRNA-222 and IL-6 levels were significantly higher in single DHVD group and multiple DHVD group than in control group (0.136±0.013 vs 0.029±0.005,0.205±0.018 vs 0.029±0.005,P<0.01;3.814±0.108 ng/L vs 2.351±0.116 ng/L,4.479±0.104 ng/L vs 2.351±0.116 ng/L,P<0.01) and in multiple DHVD group than in single DHVD group (P<0.01).The serum miRNA-222 level was positively associated with the serum IL-6 level in DHVD patients (r=0.586,P<0.01).Conclusion Serum miRNA-222 and IL-6 levels are involved in the development and progression of DHVD.
