Clinical characteristics of elderly patients at high risk of recurrent non-disabling ischemic cerebrovascular events
Abstract:Objective To study the clinical characteristics of elderly patients at high risk of recurrent non-disabling ischemic cerebrovascular events (HR-NICE).Methods Two hundred and sixty two elderly patients with recurrent HR-NICE admitted to our hospital from December 2014 to September 2016 were divided into recurrence group (n=34) and control group (n=216).Their clinical data and laboratory test parameters were recorded.Risk factors for recurrent HR-NICEand end point events were analyzed by logistic regression analysis. Results The number of male patients was larger, the incidence of coronary heart disease (CHD),intracranial artery stenosis, multiple lesions, progressive fluctuation, and the serum uric acid level were significantly higher in recurrence group than in control group (P<0.05,P<0.01).Logistic regression analysis showed that male,CHD,progressive fluctuation, multiple lesions were associated with HR-NICE in elderly patients (OR=6.449,95%CI:0.064-0.703,P=0.011;OR=4.085,95%CI:0.144-0.971,P=0.043;OR=20.101,95%CI:2.424-9.595,P=0.000;OR=9.126,95%CI:1.720-12.742,P=0.003).Conclusion The risk of recurrent HR-NICE is high in male elderly CHD patients with progressive fluctuation and multiple lesions.
