Effect of Rho kinase inhibitor on plasma urotensin Ⅱ in acute ischemic stroke patients
Abstract:Objective To study the effect of Rho kinase inhibitor on plasma urotensinⅡ (UⅡ) and the curative effect of Fasudil hydrochloride on acute ischemic stroke (AIS).Methods One hundred and twenty AIS patients admitted to our hospital were randomly divided into Fasudil hydrochloride treatment group (n=60) and control group (n=60) with 60 subjects served as a physical examination group.Their plasma U Ⅱ levels were measured by competitive ELISA.The NIHSS scores of Fasudil hydrochloride treatment group and control group were compared before and on day 14 after treatment. Results The NIHSS score was significantly lower in Fasudil hydrochloride treatment group after treatment than before treatment (P<0.01).The plasma U Ⅱ level was significantly lower in Fasudil hydrochloride treatment group and control group than in physical examination group before treatment,in control group than in physical examination group after treatment (0.20±0.06 μg/L vs 0.14±0.04 μg/L,P<0.01),and in Fasudil hydrochloride treatment group and control group after treatment than before treatment (0.15±0.03 μg/L vs 0.25±0.04 μg/L,0.20±0.06 μg/L vs 0.25±0.05 μg/L,P<0.01).Conclusion Fasudil hydrochloride (a Rho kinase inhibitor) can affect the plasma U Ⅱ expression by inhibiting the activity of Rho kinase, and improve the neurological dysfunction in AIS patients.
