Risk factors, imaging features and prognosis of patients with recently developed small subcortical infarction
Abstract:Objective To analyze the risk factors,imaging features and prognosis of patients with recently developed small subcortical infarction.Methods A total of 1011 patients with recently developed small subcortical infarction admitted to our hospital from January 2011 to December 2015 were included in this study.Of these patients,30 aged <45 years served as an adolescent group and 25 aged >85 years served as an elderly group.Their medical history,physical examination and laboratory testing parameters,imaging features,and prognosis were recorded and retrospectively analyzed.Results The serum TG,urea and creatinine levels,NIHSS score,and incidence of white matter areosis were higher,the quality of life was better in elderly group than in adolescent group.However,the prevalence of smoking,serum homocysteine level,DBP and Barthel index were significantly lower in elderly group than in adolescent group (P<0.01).Conclusion The risk factors,imaging features and prognosis are different in adolescent and elderly patients with recently developed small subcortical infarction.
