Value of P200 compositive wave in diagnosis of memory impairment
Abstract:Objective To improve the diagnosis of memory impairment by studying the characteristics of events-related potentials (ERP) in leukoaraiosis (LA) patients. Methods Thirty MRI-confirmed LA patients served as a LA group and 30 healthy elderly subjects served as a control group in this study. They underwent MOCA test, image study recognition test, and EEG.The off-line ERP were comparatively analyzed. Results The main component of ERP was P200 wave.Image study recognition test showed no significant N100 and P300 waves, and dispayed that the amplitude of P200 wave was significantly smaller in new images than in old ones of control group and LA group (10.08±0.98 μV vs 8.45±1.16 μV,P=0.000,10.52±1.52 μV vs 11.12±2.99 μV,P=0.331).Conclusion LA patients suffer from memory impairment.P200 wave can be used as an accessory tool in early diagnosis of memory impairment in LA patients.
