Relation between ankle-brachial index and proteinuria in acute ischemic stroke patients
Abstract:s:Objective To study the relation between ankle‐brachial index (ABI) and proteinuria in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients .Methods Two hundred and sixty‐three AIS patients aged>60 years admitted to our hospital from January 2013 to October 2014 were divided into positive proteinuria group (n=73)and negative proteinuria group (n=190) .The patients were further di‐vided into ABI≤0 .9 group (n=44) ,0 .9<ABI≤1 .3 group (n=143) ,and ABI>1 .3 group (n=76) .Relation between ABI and proteinuria was analyzed .Results Of the 263 patients ,73 (27.8% )were diagnosed with proteinuria .The age was older ,the history of hypertension and dia‐betes mellitus was longer ,the serum FBG level and ABI were higher in positive proteinuria group than in negative proteinuria group (P< 0 .05) .Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age ,history of hypertension ,and low ABI were closely related with proteinuria (OR=1 .162 , 95% C I:1 .095-1 .233 ,P= 0 .001 ;OR= 2 .211 ,95% C I:1 .012 -4 .831 ,P=0 .047;OR=3 .372 , 95% CI:1.312 -8 .668 ,P= 0 .028) .Conclusion Age ,history of hypertension and low ABI can predict proteinuria in AIS patients .
