Association between 1 h PG level and its metabolic factors in pre-and postmenopausal women with normal glucose tolerance
Abstract:Objective To study the association between 1 h PG level and its metabolic factors in pre‐and postmenopause wemen with normal glucose tolerance .Methods Two hundred and nine‐teen women with normal glucose tolerance were divided into premenopause group (n=115) and postmenopause group (n=104) .Their metabolic indexes were compared .Their fasting blood glu‐cose level ,1 and 2 h PG glucose levels and serum insulin level were tested by OGTT .Association between 1 h PG level and its metabolic factors was analyzed .Results 1 h PG level ,1 and 2 h insu‐lin level ,and IR were significantly higher in postmenopause group than in premenopause group (P<0 .01) .The 1 h PG level was positively related with the waist circumference ,SBP and DBP , serum levels of TG ,TC ,LDL‐C ,and IR were negatively related with the serum HDL‐C level in both groups (P<0 .01) .Multivariate regression analysis showed that the 1 h PG level was affect‐ed by the IR ,SBP ,serum LDL‐C and HDL‐C level in postmenopause group (P<0 .01) .Conclusion The 1 h PG level is higher in wemen with normal glucose tolerance than in pre‐and postmenopa‐use wemen .The 1 h PG level is positively related with the IR and metabolic risk factors .The IR , SBP ,serum HDL‐C and LDL‐C level are the independent risk factors for elevated 1 h PG level in postmenopause wemen .
