Abstract:Patients with head and neck cancer frequently experience oral disease symptoms that are caused or exacerbated by oral health complications during radiotherapy. The occurrence of radiotherapy complications can cause chewing and swallowing dysfunction, affect patients'nutritional intake, and impact their postoperative recovery and mental health. Therefore, performing a comprehensive oral health assessment prior to radiotherapy, identifying potential risks for patients, implementing timely interventions, and ensuring long-term follow-up and maintenance after treatment can effectively reduce the incidence of complications and alleviate disease-related symptoms, thereby enhancing patients'quality of life.Although scholars at home and abroad have paid attention to the oral complications of head and neck malignancy patients before and after radiotherapy, there are still differences in the timing of intervention and the application of treatment plans. This article summarizes the existing oral treatment strategies for head and neck malignancy patients before and after radiotherapy by domestic and foreign scholars for clinical reference.
