Abstract:Zirconia ceramics and lithium disilicate ceramics are extensively utilized in all-ceramic crown restorations.Zirconia-based all-ceramic crowns exhibit superior mechanical strength, whereas lithium disilicate-based crowns demonstrate excellent aesthetic outcomes and enhanced bonding properties.Clinicians should carefully evaluate patient-specific factors that may influence clinical outcomes and select the most appropriate all-ceramic restoration accordingly. This article systematically examines the mechanical and aesthetic characteristics of zirconia-based and lithium disilicate-based all-ceramic crowns, conducting a comprehensive evaluation of surface treatment methods and bonding techniques for these restorations. It further explores current clinical application strategies and recent advancements in zirconia and lithium disilicate all-ceramic crowns, aiming to provide clinicians with evidence-based guidance for the selection of appropriate restorative materials.
