Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical outcomes of digital and traditional impression in single implant restoration for elderly patients aged over 60 years. Methods A total of 40 elderly patients aged over 60 years who underwent single implant restoration in the Implant Department of Stomatological Hospital of Jilin University from October 2023 to October 2024 were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group(digital impression,20 patients)and the control group(traditional silicone rubber impression,20 patients). The impression-taking time, crown seating time, occlusal adjustment time, denture seating accuracy, rework rate, and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The impression-taking time, crown seating time, and occlusal adjustment time in the experimental group were all shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The experimental group demonstrated significantly higher scores across all five aspects of denture fitting accuracy compared to the control group(P<0.05).Additionally,the impression rework rate in the experimental group was markedly lower than that in the control group(0.5%vs.25%,P<0.05).Patient satisfaction scores in the experimental group were also significantly higher across all five evaluated dimensions(P<0.05).Conclusion Digital impression can significantly improve the efficiency, accuracy, and comfort of implant restoration for elderly patients, and is worthy of clinical promotion.
