Abstract:The development of healthcare in the new era is contingent upon the ongoing progress of technology.Clinicians are required not only to proficiently master existing technologies but also to possess scientific innovation capabilities for addressing clinical challenges. As a field that emphasizes clinical practice, dental education at the undergraduate level should focus on cultivating both clinical skills and early research thinking.During the undergraduate stage, students'research interests and fundamental research skills can be developed through strategies such as enriching course content, employing heuristic teaching methods, implementing multi-phase mentorship programs, and participating in the Undergraduate Training Program for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.Early exposure to research training enables students to identify and address problems encountered in clinical learning, fosters their capacity for original innovation, and establishes a robust foundation for the future academic and clinical career advancement of dental students.
