Abstract:Objective To investigate the implant placement accuracy following inclined implantation guided by a digitally manufactured guide plate utilizing a pilot drill with guiding functionality. Methods Twenty-two patients with posterior teeth loss and insufficient alveolar bone height were selected and implanted implant by guided drill under the digital guide template.Postoperative CBCT data were subsequently imported into implant design software to quantitatively compare and analyze discrepancies between the actual positions of the tilted implants and their preoperative planned positions. Results Forty 40 tilted implants were implanted in 22 patients. The deviation of implant platform was 0.82±0.06 mm,the deviation of the implant apex was 1.07±0.08 mm and the angle deviation was 2.43±0.12°.Conclusion Under the guidance of digital navigation systems, pilot hole reamers equipped with guiding functions can achieve high-precision implantation even after inclined implantation procedures. For patients requiring guide plates for inclined implantation, this method enables accurate and reliable implantation.
