The application effect of the continuity care model based on the WeChat platform in the care of patients with periodontitis

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of the continuity care model based on the WeChat platform in the care of patients with periodontitis.Methods From January to July 2023,100 periodontitis patients at who visited the Department of Stomatology,Air Force Medical Center were randomly divided into two groups of 50 each.The study group received WeChat-based continuity care,while the control group received conventional care.After 3 months,clinical indicators,oral health self-efficacy scale(SESS)scores,and care satisfaction in the 2 groups were compared.Results Before intervention,there were no significant differences in probing depth,plaque index,gingival index and SESS score between the study group and the control group(P＞0.05).After 3 months,the study group had significantly lower PD,PLI,and GI values(P＜0.01).SESS scores increased in both groups,with the study group showing a more remarkable improvement(P＜0.01).The study group also had a significantly higher satisfaction rate(94％vs 76％,P＜0.05).Conclusion Combining WeChat with continuity nursing care overcomes spatiotemporal limitations of traditional care,improving care effectiveness and patient satisfaction,and demonstrating strong clinical applicability.
