Abstract:Concentrated growth factor (CGF) is a new type of concentrated platelet used for tissue regeneration, which has a solid fibrin scaffold and a large number of growth factors that promote stem cell proliferation and differentiation. It is the latest generation product of the platelet concentrate family. CGF generates a large number of autologous growth factors by differential centrifugation, which has a positive role in mediating inflammatory response and alleviating local tissue edema, promoting stem cell osteogenic differentiation, promoting angiogenesis and accelerating wound repair. With clinicians' continuous exploration,CGF has shown unique effects in fields such as dental implantation, periodontology, and pulp therapy. Its good repair and regeneration ability has also injected new momentum into oral and maxillofacial surgery for tissue regeneration and repair. This paper reviews the development history of platelet concentrate family, the preparation methods of CGF in different states, the unique biological characteristics of CGF,the research progress of CGF in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, and the future application prospect of CGF in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
