Abstract:Objective Based on the chronic periodontitis data of residents in Putuo Mountain, the correlation coefficients between chronic periodontitis and symptoms of hypertension and diabetes were calculated, and a weighted correlation network model was constructed to identify key nodes. Methods Symptom data of chronic periodontitis and chronic disease of residents in Putuo Mountain were collected, correlation coefficients among symptoms were calculated using Pearson and Spearman functions, and correlation coefficient adjacency matrix was constructed. Symptom nodes were screened by correlation coefficient threshold, weighted correlation network model was generated after screening, and core nodes were found by analyzing node degree distribution. Results A total of 738 cases of periodontal data were collected from monks, nuns, and permanent residents of Mount Putuo. 203 cases were diagnosed with chronic periodontitis symptoms through full mouth examination. 127 cases were strictly vegetarian for more than 1 year. Generate a weighted correlation network model based on data analysis results, which includes 11 nodes including age, gender, blood pressure, blood glucose, periodontal pocket, gingival bleeding, tooth loosening, attachment loss, alveolar bone resorption, and years of vegetarianism. Strict vegetarianism is weakly negatively correlated with chronic periodontitis (R ≈-0.33). There was a strong positive correlation between blood sugar and tooth loosening symptoms (R≈0.60). And there is a strong positive correlation between blood pressure and periodontal pocket symptoms (R ≈ 0.65). Conclusion With the increase of vegetarian years, the prevalence of chronic periodontitis will decrease, and vegetarian diet may reduce the incidence of chronic periodontitis, but the overall correlation is weak. It may be that vegetarian diet does not directly affect chronic periodontitis,or has little effect on the causes of chronic periodontitis. The diabetes data increased when the data of tooth loosening increased;Hypertension data will increase with the increase of periodontal pocket data.
