Research on the application of virtual reality and augmented reality technology in dental teaching

Abstract：Virtual Reality(VR)and Augmented Reality(AR)are digital technologies that allow users to have an immersive experience by triggering multiple senses and constructing a reality-like virtual scene.Their characteristics can be summarized as multidimensional perception,interactivity,creativity and immersion.VR/AR is of the current attention and widely used digital technology.Stomatology is a highly professional subject,which has high requirements for students'critical thinking and practical ability.The traditional education model needs to be further improved in terms of the development of students'hands-on ability and clinical thinking.VR/AR technology is expected to change this situation with their interactive and highly simulated features.This paper focuses on the current situation of the application of VR/AR technology in dental teaching,and analyzes their application characteristics and future prospects,in order to optimize the traditional teaching mode and improve the teaching effect.
