Methods and the new evolution progress of intracanal filling material removing in root canal retreatment

Abstract：Nowadays,root canal therapy has become the most common and main treatment for pulpal and periapical disease.Because of its good therapeutic effect,it is now widely used by clinicians.Due to the complexity of root canal anatomy,instrument restrictions,filling absorption,and improper operation of doctors,some accompanying problems have gradually emerged,leading to a certain risk of treatment failure in root canal therapy.For these patients,root canal retreatment is usually the first choice to cure these teeth.The first step of root canal retreatment is to remove the old root canal fillings.The effect of the old fillings removal directly determines whether the follow-up treatment can be carried out and the last treatment effect.In this paper,the common removal methods and new progress of dental glue filling in root canal retreatment are reviewed.
