Clinical study of Kangfuxin liquid in adjuvant treatment of elderly patients with recurrent oral ulcer

Abstract：Objective:To study the adjuvant effect of Kangfuxin liquid on the treatment of recurrent aphthous ulcer in the elder patients.Methods:92 patients with recurrent aphthous ulcer were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 46 cases in each group.Both groups received Oral Ulcer Powder,three times a day and observation group was additionally given Kangfuxin liquid,10 ml/time,gargling for 2-3 min,three times a day.Treatment course of 2 groups lasted for 7 days.Visual analog scale (VAS) of pain,clinical symptoms,serum inflammatory cytokines,clinical symptom improvement and recurrence were observed in 2 groups.Results:The total effective rate of observation group (95.7％) was higher than that of control group (82.6％),and the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).The levels of TNF-α,IL-1 and IL-6 in observation group were significantly lower than those of control group,with statistical significance (P＜0.05) ulcer duration;after followed up for 6 months,recurrence rate of observation group (13.04％) was significantly lower than that of control group (30.43％),with statistical significance (P＜0.05).Conclusions:Kangfuxin liquid combined with Oral Ulcer Powder helps to improve therapeutic efficacy of patients with recurrent aphthous ulcer and reduce recurrence rate.
