Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Bifluorid 12 and Ominq (bioactive glass) in the treatment of Occlusal Dentin Hypersensitivity in the elderly.Methods:66 patients with 160 Occlusal Dentin Hypersensitivity teeth were collected and randomly divided into experimental group and control group with 33 cases in each group.Experimental group were treated with Bifluorid 12,and control group were treated with Ominq,The clinical efficacy and VAS score were observed at 24 hours,1 month and 3 months after desensitization. Results:The two desensitization agents both had desensitization effect. The clinical effect was similar with more than 85% efficiency in immediate and 24 hours. The effective rates of the experimental group and the control group were 88.75% and 77.5% in 1 month (P<0.05).After 3 months they were 65% and 52.5% respectively(P<0.05).The subjective VAS scores of the experimental group and the control group were 3.73±2.5 and 4.82± 1.25 in 1 month (P<0.05).After 3 months they were 4.45±2.47 and 5.47± 1.52 respectively, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Bifluorid 12 is effective and stability in treating Occlusal Dentin Hypersensitivity in the elderly. It can be used clinically according to its characteristics in patients.
