Abstract：Objective:To summarize the experience of clinical features and treatment in elderly patients with oral and maxillofacial infections with diabetes mellitus.Methods:The general information,etiology,laboratory results,treatment and outcome of 20 elderly patients with oral and maxillofacial space infection in our hospital in 2016 were analyzed.Results:In the case of strict control of blood glucose,oral maxillofacial infections in elderly patients with diabetes had in a large dose drugs,the longer course of treatment,more complications under strict control of blood glucose.Conclusions:Propaganda and education,cooperation with specialist to control blood sugar level and standardization medication should be closed attention for the elderly patients with oral and maxillofacial infections and diabetes mellitus.
