Study on the shear strength of three kinds of dentin bonding agents in vitro

Abstract：Objective:The purpose of this study was to evaluate the shear strength to dentin of SinglebondTM Universal (SB) adhesive,All-Bond Universal (AB) adhesive and Clearfil SE Bond (Clearfil SE) adhesive.Methods:Seventy-five extracted third molars were used to create 75 dentin specimens.These specimens were randomly divided into five groups:SBS,SBE,ABS,ABE and SE.The adhesives were applied as per manufacturers' instructions,and composite was bonded into 3mm*3mm cylindrical specimens on dentin.all specimens were stored for 24 hours in 37℃ normal saline water and tested by the DZS-Ⅲ hard brittle material.Analysised all numbers by SPSS17.0 statistical software.Results:Shear strength values of group SBE was the highest and had a significant difference with the other groups(P＜0.05).The values between the group ABE with ABS or SE had statistical significant (P＜0.05).Pairwise comparison:the groups ofABS、SBS and SE,which had no significantly different from each other(P＞0.05).Conclusions:The study recommends that using SinglebondTM Universal adhesive with Etch-and-rinse mode,because it shows the highest shear strength.
