Abstract：Objective:To investigate the bacteriostasic activity of nano-slilver based inorganic antibacterial gel to the common periodontal pathogens in vitro.Methods:The agar diffusion method was used to investigate the bacteriostasic activity of nano-slilver based inorganic antibacterial gel (test group) to the common periodontal pathogens.The pathogens included werePorphyromanus gingivalis (P.g.),Prevotella interrnedia (P.i.),Fusobacterium nucleatum (F.n.),Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans (A.a.).minocycline gel and the blank vehicle was investigated as positive and negative control respectively at the same time.Results:The diameters of the bacterial inhibition ring of test group werel4.4± 1.14 mm,15.2±0.84 mm,14.2± 1.10 mm,14.8±0.84mmfor P.g.,P.i.,F.n.,A.a.,respectively.There were no significant difference between the test group and positive control.Conclusion:The nano-sliver based inorganic antibacterial gel have the similar baceriostasic activity to the common periodontal pathogens with minocycline.
