Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of three oxygen therapy in the treatment of chronic periodontitis Methods:80 patients were randomly divided into four groups (group A,B,C,D).After subgingival scaling/root planning, teeth in group A,B,C,D were irrigated by 20.0 μg·m1-1Ozonated water,42.2 μg·mlt Ozonated water,0.12% chlorhexidine (CHX) and 0.9% NS.Parameters included gingival index (GI),plaque index (PLI),bleeding index (BI),probing depth (PD) and clinical attachment level (CAL) were measured after subgin. The gingival index of the A group and the depth of the diagnosis were 0.65± 0.67,1.70± 0.73,which were significantly better than those of chlorhexidine acetate group and saline group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05) Bleeding index (BI) of group A was 1.40± 1.05 and curative effect was worse than the group of 0.12% CHX,and the difference had a significant effect (P<0.05).PLI and CAL of group A were 0.70± 0.73,0.95± 0.69 and curative effect was better than the group of 0.12% CHX,but there were no statistically significant differences after treatment (P >0.05).However different concentrations of Ozonated water had an adjunct treatment to the chronic periodontitis, there were no statistically significant differences after treatment (P> 0.05).Conclusion:Subgingival irrigation with Ozonated water combined with SRP could help improve the gingival inflammation status in treating Chronic periodontitis.
