Research Progress on the Relationship between Oral Bacterial Colonization, Oral Care and Stroke-associated Pneumonia (SAP)

Abstract:Stroke is one of the main causes of death in the elderly,and stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP),which is a common complication of stroke,can be fatal for patients suffering stroke.In recent years,more and more studies have found that oral bacterial colonization is closely related to SAP,including the occurrence and prevention of SAP.In this paper,the domestic and foreign research progress on the relationship between oral bacterial colonization and the pathogenesis of SAP and the correlation between oral care and prevention of SAP is reviewed.
