The analysis of related factors affecting decision making of implant prosthesis and population distribution in elderly patients

Abstract：Objective: T o analyze the related affecting factors of dental im plant restoration in elderly patients and the corresponding population distribution.Methods:O raland body health of200 elderly patients w ho needed dentalprosthesis w ere exam ined.Proportion ofdifferentage groups,w hen the three com m on related factors w ere taken into account,w ere evaluated.Results:N o significantly differencesw ere found in alveolarbone resorption,generalcondition and psychological status distribution am ong all age groups (P>0.05). In each group, the horizontal alveolar bone resorption w as the m ost commontypeofboneloss,whiletheprevalenceofpitresorptionwasthelowest.Theproportionofhealthypeoplewerethe highest.M oreover,the passive recipientsofim plantsurgicaloperationsoutnum bered the active recipients.Conclusion:The physical condition of m ost elderly patients can tolerate operation, H ow ever, m ost elderly patients, having poor psychologicalacceptability,lack the know ledge ofdentalim plants.
