Abstract:Objective:To observe the postoperative effect of high vacuum suction drainage bottle and traditional suction drainage bottle in superficial parotidectomy. Methods: Totally 104 cases with parotid gland surgery in middle-aged and elderly patients were randomly divided into experimental group (54 cases) and control group (50 cases). Experimental group were treated with high vacuum suction drainage bottle, while control group were treated with traditional suction drainage bottle. The fluid volume of postoperative drainage on Day 1, 2, 3 and total volume, duration of drainage, the incidence of seroma formation were compared between two groups. Results: There was no significant difference in the volume of drainage between high vacuum suction drainage bottle group and the traditional suction drainage group on the first and second day. On the third day, the volume of drainage of high vacuum suction drainage bottle group was less than that of the traditional suction drainage group. The drainage duration of high vacuum suction drainage bottle group was shorter than that of the traditional suction drainage group. No significant difference was found in the total volume of postoperative drainage between the two groups. No significant difference was found in the percentage of patients with seroma formation between the two groups. Conclusion:High vacuum drainage bottle and traditional suction drainage bottle can both achieve good drainage effects. Moreover, High-vacuum drainage bottle enables the flap to closely fit the bottom of the organization and promotes wound healing. Everyday removal of the fluid in the bottle was not needed in high vacuum drainage bottle group and thus the opportunity of postoperative infection and the manual workload were reduced. To a degree, application of high vacuum suction drainage bottle can reduce postoperative drainage duration.
