A study of the facial contour of edentulous TMD patients with decreased vertical dimension

Abstract：Objective:To observe the effect of the facial contour changes before and after vertical dimension restorations of complete dentures in edentulous TMD patients. Methods:Lateral cephalometric radiographs were exposed on the centric occlusion of all 48 patients, and measured before and after vertical dimension restoration. Results:YA, MPA values, and the distance of N-Me was increased respectively. Conclusion:The TMD symptoms and facial contours can be recovered by the changes of vertical dimension in edentulous patients.
